This free workshop is aimed at journalists who work in any medium and cover any beat who who want to build their skills and knowledge to better cover HIV and AIDS. Come for the latest info and strategies and come away with new contacts and story ideas.
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The evening includes the presentation of the Lisa Ben Award for Achievement in Features Coverage of the LGBT Community and Issues along with tasty treats to eat and drink.
Student Scholarships, Connect: Student Journalism Project
These opportunities are available to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Applications are due May 31, 2016 for all three programs.

Leroy F. Aarons dedicated his life to journalism. He believed that the LGBT community could advance if the news media fairly and accurately portrayed the lives of LGBT individuals and their issues. This simple but visionary idea became the foundation for NLGJA. His legacy continues with these academic programs.
