Our NLGJA-LA Board Family Just Got Bigger!

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating our newest board members Senta S. Scarborough and Ande Richards.

sentascarboroughSenta S. Scarborough is the vice president of outreach and membership for NLGJA-LA. She lives in Los Angeles, where she is pursuing a master in fine arts in creative arts and writing for the performing arts at the University of California Riverside Palm Desert. She focuses on screenwriting and creative non-fiction projects. She is an award-winning journalist and Emmy-nominated producer. She also serves on the board of directors for the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association.

 

ande_richardsAnde Richards is NLGJA-LA’s vice president of programming and events. She has a knack for getting people to open up. She likes to tell stories and wants to make that her career. She shares her personal stories and comments on current events in her Dropstitch column in the Los Angeles Collegian. She has an interest in under-reported communities and often delves into social justice issues like that of the recently exonerated San Antonio 4, who she will be chronicling online. She has a bachelor of arts in Theatre Arts and is a Telly Award-winning filmmaker. She studies journalism at Los Angeles City College where she has worked as Editor-in-Chief of the Los Angeles Collegian newspaper and Collegian Times magazine.
