NLGJA Awards Deadline Extended to April 10

NLGJA – the Association of LGBTQ Journalists is excited to announce to our members and friends that the deadline for NLGJA’s Excellence in Journalism Awards has been extended to April 10. Submit today!

If you weren’t able to meet the original awards submission deadline, there’s still time to submit. Entries submitted between March 28 – April 10 may include an additional $40 processing fee unless noted otherwise.

NLGJA’s Excellence in Journalism Awards are presented each year at NLGJA’sNational Convention. The program was expanded to 30 categories in 2016 and awards are presented for work that was produced between January 1 and December 31, 2016. NLGJA is accepting nominations for the following award categories:

  • Journalist of the Year
  • Sarah Pettit Memorial Award for the LGBT Journalist of the Year
  • Excellence in Book Writing
  • Excellence in Feature Writing
  • Excellence in Feature Writing, Non-Daily
  • Excellence in Newswriting
  • Excellence in Newswriting, Non-Daily
  • Excellence in Photojournalism
  • Excellence in Profile Writing
  • Excellence in Sports Writing
  • Excellence in Student Journalism
  • Excellence in Travel Writing
  • Excellence in Blogging
  • Excellence in a Digital Edition
  • Excellence in Digital Video
  • Excellence in Multimedia
  • Excellence in Online Journalism
  • Excellence in Social Media
  • Excellence in Column Writing
  • Excellence in Opinion/Editorial Writing
  • Excellence in Documentary
  • Excellence in Local Television
